B. Braun Kenya supports education of young biomedical talents
The “Biomedical Engineers for Africa” is a capacity building program initiated by the Government of Kenya. In 2021 a technical lab for biomedical students has been constructed within the premises of Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital. Five international companies like B. Braun Melsungen AG, Siemens AG, and Draeger Medical GmbH have – amongst others - donated their brand-new medical equipment and installed it in the new lab. Now the technical experts of these international companies are going to train the teachers at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital on their equipment. This project has been coordinated by GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation).
B. Braun Melsungen AG donated Infusion Pumps, Dialysis Machines and Surgical Equipment. The technical Experts of B. Braun Kenya and B. Braun Melsungen have already started training the teachers on the B. Braun equipment.
This program will make the next generation of biomedical engineers in Kenya familiar with the state-of-the-art equipment of our times - in a very pragmatic approach. B. Braun Kenya is proud to be part of this pioneering educational program.
